Yes, we have buried the helmet and swords, WWII, is a past chapter, The 'war' have reached a new level; Internet scamming! hehe.. Fortunately I did not sent money, but I must admit I was very close. But suddenly my brain woke up and my groin eased down! I must have lost some blood from my brain during the conversation to the east! hehe... She was very sweet. And her voice was very sincere. But I really did not got any decent answer to my questions! The strange thing is; when I talked to her on the phone her English was not bad. I`m not that good speaking English, so for me her knowledge was surprisingly good. The first call was a little bit divided, but she is a clever girl, because she improved very fast! And my stomach told me she was a good person. But that was until she asked for money for the trip. Then I got mail nearly every day, but when I refused to sent money in a envelope or put money on to a total strange account, the mails came suddenly much more head began to think!
It may be my interpreting of her words that is wrong. I sent a straight from the hart letter to her yesterday, but still got no answer. And I can confirm her English phrases concerning how good I look, how much she loves me is excellent. Direct questions is a very confusion reading. Well, I could make a fool of my self, but my Swedish friend sits with good experience. It is a pity though; I lost a good looking girl, I lost a ' good friend' but life goes on. I think I will lay down my firearms and pull back.
I feel a little bit mean laying the pictures of her on the net, Is there a way to redrawn them? It could happen that I am mistaking the whole situation, then it is bad by me making the photos public. I should think about that before I went public with them, but now it is done! Or maybe she is being used by her fu.... fiance?

anonymous from United States ...sorry to be a killjoy, but it should be 'hur står det till i Sverige och Norge?' :D...nice try though. and actually I come from Quebec originally, so I'm probably still at war with the US :D

Yes, sadly, we're having to wait a few months until her papers get processed so I spend a bit of time on this site warning people if I can. There are a few of us around. Drod is the man!, he's a walking database of info on scammers. I think it should be pronounced scum.

anon from Norge!...technically you didn't get scammed at all, so well done. It's not easy to know when you come across your first scammer. In my case, i 'met' my first scammer 5 months after I'd met my first real Russian girl and she'd visited me in Sweden! Ergo I knew the visa rules and knew i was being scammed. I told her it was impossible for her to get a visa without my sponsorship but she just ignored it. She even phoned me one evening. I never sent any money of course. After that i started researching and learned how to find an IP address etc.

If you want to meet real Russian girls, you should try Elenasmodels or Russianbrides. the ones that write to you first will generally be scammers (quite easy to spot), but there are lots of nice women there too. Most of them can't speak English though. If you want impress them, you can write in Russian using an internet translator, you'll get more response. The best one is in simple english and use the back translator to check that it makes sense.

about the photos, i understand your reluctance about posting them, but they are almost certainly stolen by the scammer. I think you should post them, of course. I don't think you've made a mistake Norge. If you continue looking for a Russian bride, you will understand quite soon that she is a scammer. and of course i can confirm that fact if you tell me what email system you use (not your address), then I can explain how to locate her IP address. It's quite easy.

Lycka till

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but then YOU are the one with the 'hands on' experience. We 'regulars' work well together to support and inform the 'newbies.'

On another note, moving in about a 6 weeks, to be with my Lady. She, too was scammed. We met on another scam site and have met in person.

What many fail to realize is this. Dating online is OK. They just seem to forget the basics. It will ALWAYS be a mirage until you actually meet in person. Until that time, it is simply fantasy.

Best wishes for you and yours.

Hi Sweden.
I use Microsoft Outlook. System is Microsoft XP. I do not know if that is relevant. And by the way, I am about to study Russian. Doesn`t bother me if I was scammed. It is a very interesting language! Who knows, It might happen that I run into a Russian girl later.

anon outlook? if you have the 97 version, you probably won't be able to open the headers at all, but if you have Outlook 98 or 2000....

1. Open an email you want to check in a separate window (double click)
2. In the View menu select Options
3. In the 'Internet Headers' window, you should see something like this (unfortunately it doesn't include the message itself).

*** The IP address is in the last 'received:from' segment. In this case it's []. Use an IP database searcher to check the IP location. As I mentioned before is a good one. If you can't identify the IP in Ripe, you can also use other RIR Database searches: AfriNIC | APNIC | ARIN | the bottom of the Ripe page.

If you can't find an IP address in the last 'Received:from' segment, you can also look for an 'originating IP' in the header.

If you can't find an IP address in the last 'Received:' segment OR an originating IP in the header, then the scammer is hiding his location using a proxy server, SOKS server, GPRS internet etcetc.

To sum up, there should be a valid IP address in the last 'received:from' segment, or an 'originating IP' somewhere in the mail header, and when you look this number up in the database, it should correspond to the location that the person who has sent you the mail claims to be writing from (or at least the city or region). If for any reason you can't find a valid IP, or the girl says 'I am writing from moscow' but when you check the IP it says 'Mari El dial up' or 'Nikolaev ...Volga Telekom' for example, then it's a scammer.

It's quite easy really. The girl might still try to scam you even if her IP address is authentic :D but 90% of the scammers don't want to be located for obvious reasons.

Hi again. Following your procedure this is what I found: I erased the mail address and so on:

Received: from ( [])
by (8.13.8/8.13.5) with ESMTP id l5NDM6Lu008732

Received: from ( [])
by (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4AFAC1EC8A8

Received: from (unknown [])(This is the ' last '(received from..)'

I tried the digits on the cite ripe database, This is the answer I got from there,

FYI...In the past week there have been 2 scammer's the victim's met at Elenasmodels so,even they are not totally safe. The post's are on Romancescams. The telltale the guy's noticed was the girl's wanting to correspond 'off-site' which is very typical with scammers. As with any site, just be careful and use the head on your shoulder's!

absolutely right skeet?....though I never said that there weren't scammers at Elenamodels or Russianbrides and that they were totally safe. 90% of dating sites are crawling with them. I believe I said 'if you want to meet real Russian girls, you should try Elenasmodels or Russianbrides. the ones that write to you first will generally be scammers (quite easy to spot), but there are lots of nice women there too.' I stand by that because you aren't going to meet real Russian girls at say, Romantic planet.

When I joined Russian brides, I got 8-10 'women' writing to me in the first 2 days, all but one was a scammer. I wrote back to them in Russian and told them to idi na khuy. I also reported them to the management and they were always immediately deleted.

But I also corresponded with 4 or 5 real Russian/Ukrainian women, all of them nice and good looking. The one I liked best I went to visit for 10 days last summer (now my fiancée as you know), but I also had dinner in Moscow with another one on the way home, also a very intelligent woman who spoke good English. And I had a third one up my sleeve, so to speak, in Saratov in case my first one didn't work out.

Personally, I think it's rubbish to say that wanting to correspond 'off-site' is a scam sign. how can you can chat on messenger on-site? or with a webcam? I think every single real Russian girl I've ever corresponded with, I've done it off site after the first couple of mails.

But as you say, you have to be careful. Quite simply, NEVER SEND MONEY!!

E,I idn't mean to imply it was a sure sign wanting to go off-site just that it's a 'yellow flag'.At least those 2 site's remove reported profiles. If I was going to look for a woman from the FSU I'd certainly give Elena's a shot.I have meet a couple women from there over here{dancers}and they were really nice. One would alway's come sit and talk with me on her break,we got along great! Too bad I started dating one of the other girl's{it didn't last}who know's what might have happened. The place closed so I don't know what became of her.I know I've learned alot from your post's about them and from what I gather they're really no different than other women.Maybe better in some aspect's with ethics and moral values, women here seem to get more superficial all the time! The 'American way' is not alway's so great! Well have a nice weekend. 'S'

Hi again Sweden. I understood there were a great interest in my correspondence with this Russian Girl. Would you like me to add a new scammer, or should I simply mail my letters here with the correspondence with rest of you?

Hej Jarle!...well, I wouldn't exactly call it 'great interest' :D It's the same old scammer bullshit really. But now that we've proved that she's a scammer, it's good if you post all the information here if you like, even if it doesn't feel good to you.

Actually, if she's a new scammer with new photos, it's better if you start a new thread. this scammer is called 'Svetlana Howralewa' but yours is called 'Olga Bordo'. You thread title should be 'Russian scammer Olga Bordo from Ukhta'.

The reason you should post the letters, email addy etc is that if she uses the same letters again, if the victim is sensible (like you) or suspicious, he can use Google to search for the email addy (if she uses the same one) or to check a particular phrase in one of her emails. For example, he can google the phrase 'I love you, my dear, my favourite, my sweet, my star','Love is singing in my heart like a bird in the spring sky'
or 'to sit with friends and eat an ice-cream was very joyful'.

When he googles these phrases, they will lead him to this site and he will discover that his penfriend is a scammer! Then he will save face and a lot of money, just like you did :D You will be helping an unknown stranger.

Ha det så bra,

PS you should post all the photos you have, but not your own emails of course ;D
PPS have you noticed that all her mails are almost exactly the same length?
2007-07-17, 08:28:49 from United States
I moved Norway's pictures that he himself had identified to come from the same source as 'Olga Bordo' over to that thread:

I also deleted one or two duplicate posts connected to this. Just trying to clean up, not censoring. Maybe I need to have a 'move' button that allows you guys to request moving a post into another thread.
